Optimizing Pharma Packaging: A Personal Journey
Hey, packaging fanatics! I’ve been in the drug packaging game for a while now and I’m eager to impart some insights. Today, we’re going to talk about the fascinating realm of drug packaging and the important USP regulations.
1. USP Compliance
So, as a packaging designer, my big deal is making sure we’re on point with those USP regulations. You know, those are like the highest criterion for product quality, purity, and safety.
We got to stick to the rules so our packaging is top-notch. I’ve had to modify designs many times to meet those USP regulations over the years. It’s considerable effort, but it’s extremely critical to know that what we’re doing is ensuring product safety and functioning effectively.
2. Material Selection
Picking the right materials is a very important too. We have to think about shelf stability, how they withstand chemicals, and whether they’re good with the pharmaceutical contents.
I had this one project where we had to move from regular plastic to a exotic polymer to extend the drug’s freshness. It saved money and made the packaging way better. It was a daunting choice, but it proved successful in the end.
3. Sustainability
With more people concern for the earth, Sustainable Practices is key in drug packaging. I’m working on projects to reduce waste and lower the carbon impact of our packaging.
Like, we’re using biodegradable materials and recycled materials in our designs. It feels good knowing we’re doing something good for the environment.
4. User Experience
We aspire to to ensure our container is simple to use. We want customers and medical professionals to have no difficulties with it.
I have assisted in designing container featuring cool features like child-resistant caps and evident directions. It’s cool to get positive comments on how user-friendly and secure our container is.
5. Innovation
And ultimately and most importantly, creativity is essential. We continually strive to discover innovative methods to make our container improved and hold competitive position.
I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with a stellar group of technicians and creatives who brainstorm stellar ideas. We’ve introduce some innovative container designs introduced which have really enhanced the user contentment.
